My prostate cancer
This is my journey 18/12/2023
Went to see doc about a pain I had in my side. he said maybe you should have a PSA blood test (prostate specific antigen (PSA). something showed up so I was then sent for a ultrasound scan and more worry come up in that so now they sent me for MRI scan (Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) now this showed up something and doc said he thinks I might have prostate cancer
omg I was well worried at this point. so my next step was to go and have a biopsy A biopsy is a procedure to remove a piece of tissue or a sample of cells from your body so that it can be tested in a laboratory . after the results they found I had aggressive prostate cancer . that was it i thought shit man this is bad now😬

so now they said they need to make sure it aint spread so I was sent for CT scan and bone scan and I am waiting on those results . it seems the waiting time on scans these days are up to 2 weeks. when ya worried two weeks seems like a bloody long time but the nurse I have said not to worry as prostate cancer is very slow growing
I have spoke with the doctor about what procedure to have . he said I havta pick what i want . like i had a clue about what ta choose . now I'm reading up on weather to have the prostate removed or just have radiotherapy .

2 weeks and I'm back in to see doc . doc says the last results show it aint spread so that's a bit of nice news .so now I have decided to have it chopped out . I had two options radiotherapy or robotic surgery and I went for the surgery as my cancer is aggressive and from what I have read about it its the best option to have surgery as i can have radiotherapy if needed after the operation but had I went for radiotherapy and not the operation I wouldn't have the chance to have the operation if needed after having the radiotherapy
Most of the stuff they say goes in one ear and out the other so its a good job her indoors is there with me . omg the stuff you havta have after the surgery like a piss bag for ten days . and nappies there after . fuckin rep will be in tatters that's for sure lol anyway I'm now just waiting on a meeting with the surgeon who will do the surgery . They say the wait could be a couple more weeks and the operation could be within 2 months so ill see you on the next update

Had my appointment today with the consultant after what seems a long time for it ta seem such a waist of time as it wasn't for my pre op they just wanted to ask me the same stuff. but he did say my operation should be around may of this year . I guess ill get my pre op between now and then fingers crossed . i was going to have a go at them about it but thought better not as ya wouldn't have a go at the chef before he cooked ya meal would ya lol. cya on the next update

ok I'm back I know its been a long time since my last post but I was going to give up on this blog but I have been told it can help . so I have had the operation to remove my prostate with robotic surgery doc said it all went well at the time . omg I must mention this . I had a piss bag for 2 weeks and that was the worst part of the whole thing for me thank god I only had it for two weeks. also had them nasty injections for 48 days and I hadta do them myself and that wasn't pleasant at all. had my first check up with doc in July 2024 psa blood test come back ok but doc told me that they are unsure if they got it all as it shows that the cancer got past my lymph nodes
Second check up with doc and things don't look so great as the cancer did get past the lymph nodes :-( they said the first blood test I had would have showed up as not having a high count but this test has showed that it did get past the lymph nodes so now I havta wait for my next psa blood test in January and then onto treatment I guess .
(Sex)omg what is that lol . seen the nurse and she gave me Viagra and it didn't work .tried it a few times and gave up all hope of a sex life . my next time with the nurse she gave me a pump with a cock ring and to my surprise the lil fella come back :-) it sure is kinda weird having orgasm with out the mess lol . the nurse said it might all come back in a couple of years so I live in hope as the pump works but what a lot of bother ta get a hardon
right ill see you all again in January and I hope it's good news as all the scans and blood tests do get me down a bit

had blood test today for when I see doctor (I don't know fancy name for him so ill say doc lol)also seen the nurse again and she asked me how I was getting on with sex and the pump . that bloody pump is a lot of bother but it does wake the lil fella up lol . she said it takes time to come back to normal so keep using the pump . she did ask me again if I wanted the injection into me dick . I said . no bloody way am I sticking a needle in me dick lol . ok that's it for now cya the end of the month fingers crossed its good news

It's kind of weird how you change your look on life when you get a cancer diagnoses. You tend ta notice more things in life and the weird part is ya don't worry about the same things you did before
had my blood tests looked at and seen doc again today and its all good news as my scans and blood tests all come back as undetectable. im free and rang the bell at hospital as I left . now I just havta have blood test and see doc every 6 months
lets hope my cancer journey is behind me now . just hope that I had seen doc early and saved all the bother I have been through the past year
id just like to say thanks to everyone that has supported me with messages and such as it has helped me . and once again if your a male over 30 please go and have the blood test and if they get it early you don't need to have the prostate removed as I have

Well its been a year now and i am doing really well the results of testing are all coming back good and things seem to be getting back to normal . No more nappies and the lil fella seems ta be waking up with out the use of that bloody pump and ring iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Fingers still crossed for the next results . i guess ill be doing this for the rest of my life though . Ya know that lil worry in ya head that the cancer will rase its ugly head again in some other area but i'm still thinking positive and just getting on with life as i wont let that worry get to me as we all have that lil thing in ya head when ya feel a pain ya think omg it could be the big C . Well maybe not all of us but i'm sure people that have had cancer will think it
Well i guess that's my story. i do hope this blog helps someone out there and they get tested and are clear or maybe not clear but got it early and get through it like i have. comment below if you have any questions about prostate cancer and ill help if i can

I get a blood test every 6 months now. the worst part for me was that bloody catheter for two weeks. I used ta empty it by putting me leg up on the bog. bad idea that was as I got an infection and started pissing blood but other than that everything went well with no pain .all men over 30 should get the blood test done 🎗️ ♥
rat, had mine removed, december of 2016, seems like a long time ago, went to work in baggy sweats with the catheter bag taped to my leg. Bought that pump but found i didnt need it
