Ava, lets face it, we have so few actual women in the room, too many men have figured out, that they get way more attention with womens profiles than mens.Its the fakes that this discussion is about, not the harassment of real women.We have lost female chatters that I miss, because someone attacked them. Maybe, with the discussion, some of those fakes will be encouraged to just enter the room with the correct gender icon, and forgo trying to put one over on everyone.

I've read a lot of what's been said on this thread & agree with points made by both sides.Although,I'm disappointed by some of the flippant remarks made by the mods on this subject,about genuine concerns by paying members.

Personally,when on cam chat,I don't see why I shouldn't question it or ask for 'proof' from a member who is being vague or dishonest regarding their gender.
If someone is private messaging me to talk in sexual terms,then I definitely want to know if I'm conversing with a male or a female.I don't think this is being unreasonable.
Why would someone be offended when asked to show their face or figure (no nudity) for 5 seconds on camera to prove their gender?
There appears to be a few 'precious' people on here who are easily offended,yet frequent a voyeur site? Bizarre.
When I receive a private message with the opening line "Hi,female here using husband's profile.",it immediately rings alarm bells.

Seems the site owners are happy to take anyone's money but do little to weed out the fraudsters.

I'm a mod true, yes I'm making a bit of fun out of this and I'm a full member I have paid my money as well as anyone to be a member, I am just a chatter I don't own, work for, or get any huge compensation for moding, we just help run the room , get headaches and try to fix stuff just like this. So sure the mods are not taking this seriously why you ask? Because we know there not one dang thing that can be done. I know of a few sites that say.... no fake profiles "all fake profiles will be removed "when found out" lol funny . good luck finding them......

Obviously you are not fooled by the fakers, so why do you think others are?

I don't know which flippant comments you are referring to, some attempts were made at humor to lighten the mood, this is supposed to be a fun place!

If you can see both sides of this argument, then you can also see that some of the women who have been chased away were also paying customers.

I personally don't think this problem has an easy answer as it has been an ongoing issue in chat rooms since the days of bb's and applet windows.

The bottom line is, if you treat people with respect, and take a genuine interest in them, then the questions and answers come easily.

Genuine conversations make for friendships, and I think if more people focused on that aspect, then we wouldn't even need to be discussing this!

To answer Funstuff's point regarding cams . . . . . no I don't expect everyone to have access to a cam,so I wouldn't converse with someone I was suspicious about & claimed they didn't have one.So that aspect wouldn't effect me.
You say it's difficult to spot fakes Funstuff,yet in Motley's earlier post he states "If you can't tell a guy from a girl from carrying out a brief conversation,then online fakes are the least of your problems."
And then in Motley's latest post above he asks me "Why are other people fooled by the fakers?"
Maybe he should ask Funstuff.

I agree with you Motley,it is supposed to be a fun place.It's also supposed to be an amateur site for genuine people.Not fakes,frauds & professionals.
Mad's initial post voicing his concerns on a valid issue,was ridiculed from the start.
At one point,those who agreed with him were told to "get over it." Is that really a satisfactory response a paying customer should be receiving from those who police the cam chat?

Surely if Motley can spot a fake & I can spot a fake despite only be on for an hour or so a week,why can't the other mods spot them? Since they are on duty for hours at a time.
Why are these fakes not flagged up? Can their avatar not be changed to the proper gender by administrators? Warnings sent?

We're told nothing can be done about it.
Or is it more the case of not willing to do anything about it?
