since I have many hundreds of pictures on my computer, it would be nice to be able to look up profiles using the file name. It is difficult to go back and find a profile after some time. from what I can tell all file names are unique. Such a backwards look up would make this site even more fun.

I asked that about a month ago in the "Questions and Suggestions" section and never got any answer. The files are probably still there but the directory structure is
confusing at best. There's someone I'd like to find again in 1091822_c7a94b90.jpg so I went into a current post and tried changing just the file name, didn't work. The current test case was in storage/contributions/free/24/2613/261395/ and if each of those numbered directories has many alternatives it could be anywhere. I don't know that they were numbered sequentially, there could be some sort of member number or date code in there. Otherwise there are 24 * 2613 * 261395 different directories (at least).

But that would only find the image anyway, not get you back to the page they were linked from. I'm just guessing but there probably isn't any database of what images are linked from what pages. Using the search function to search for an image file name doesn't work I think that could be added but it would probably require writing a program to initially crawl through all the pages and record image file names. Sounds like fun to me but most people would consider it a PITA. And there are people with over 100 contris with up to 8 pictures each so it gets huge.
