I don't know how many of you remember the 70's sitcom Three's company. In the last few seasons of the show Priscilla Barnes joined the cast as room mate Terri Alden. Before getting a break and landing a spot on Three's company Priscilla did a nude photo shoot for Penhouse magazine. Under the name Joann Witty she was Penhouse pet of the month in March 1976.

I think everyone knows that Pamela Anderson was playmates of the month for Playboy magazine February 1990. Does anyone know of any other actresses that started out by posing nude for a magazine???

Hangin I do know all the ladies you listed have posed nude and I believe all did for Playboy. But it was AFTER they were already famous. The list goes on and on for female stars that posed for Playboy. My question was before they were famous.

As I was seaching the net to find information on which stars posed for Playboy. I found a cool web page that shows a thumb nail pic (that you can enlarge) of every Playboy centerfold from the first Marilyn Monroe Dec 1953 to Colleen Shannon Jan 2004 when the page was posted.

As I flipped through them I found some trends that I thought were kind of interesting. In the early years playmates only showed there breasts and some didn't even show that much skin. A hand full posed nude but were always posed in a way not to show too much. The very first playmate to give a peek at her bush was Ellen Stratton Dec 1959. Her centerfold showed her wearing sheer red panties.

It must have been really living on the edge because she was the only playmate to even give a peek at her bush until Jan 1971 when Liv Lindeland posed nude for her centerfold and gave a little peek at her bush facing side ways. It was a whole year until Marilyn Cole Jan 1972 was the next playmate to show her bush. She was also the first playmate to face the camera and pose completely nude. However the lower part of her body was covered in a shadow.

Again Playboy must have felt they were really taking a chance with her centerfold. It wasn't until the following year 1973 that centerfolds showed full frontal nudity again. There were 4 playmates that year and from 1973 the trend became much more common. Of coarse in those days a full natural bush was the going style. And it was a style that was long lived. I was surprised to see going natural lasted through the 80's and it wasn't until Dec 1993 that Arlene Baxter looks to be the first playmate to trim her bush. Shortly after that March 1994 playmate Neriah Davis was the first to sport a landing strip.

Over the next 7 years the nice and neat look and the landing strip seemed to be equally popular. It wasn't until Sept 2001 that playmate Dalene Kurtis was the first centerfold to go bare and shave it all off. But going bare didn't catch like wild fire. In fact over the next couple years to Jan 2004 when the page ended it was a mixed bag. A few other playmate shaved bare but most had at least a tiny bush or thin landing strip. But it was clear that pubic hair was on it's way out.

Maybe all this means nothing...But I thought it was intresting that it gave some time line about trends like women shaving there pubes. I mean playmates are supposed to be the most beautiful women around. It would stand to figure they would be up on the current trends.

First Centerfolds were Like Pin UPS Made popular durin the War (Vargus Style). The First Full Frontal Nude was in Hustler & the C/F was Larry Flint's Wife. When the Obsinity Trial went in Larry's Favor Penthouse Joined & PB Eventually Followed to keep distribution pace (Hugh still prefers the Glamor type shots to this day).

In Days gone by BIG Hair was the Only Way(Drapes & Rug Matched). As Swimsuits got skimpier & Bikinis became rage (1st in mid 60's) Trimin became a must so our Pubes weren't Hangin OUT. Thongs set the Stage for the Smooth Look which was Very Common in most Nudist Resorts (PURRfect All Over TAN).
