Posed pictures usually look posed.
Seems like a lot of timer pictures have that "grimace" or "lockjaw" look.

It's damn tough to take pictures (good ones) of naked women. A lot depends on their mood, light or many other variables. I wonder if the lighting makes me look fat. Usually, it's my fat that makes me look fat.
Plus I lose interest in taking pictures after a while.
Again, for good pictures, molesting the model or only having one hand on a heavy Nikon D-300 tends to mess pictures up.
You can take pictures or play. Tough to do both well at the same time.

This is a good thread. Definitely worth reading through to improve your photos. The biggest ones we have found are:
1) Lots of light! Preferably natural light.
2) Know your camera
3) Pick where you are going to shoot and make sure it looks neat and tidy.
4) Have fun! Just play!
5) Use props. Whatever you like. We found using a chair was great. Added comfort and the ability to play with poses.
6) Oh and did we say have fun...this is the most important.

Most of our sessions are spur of the moment. I constantly violate your tip number 3. I've tried to move the subject to a clutter-free background bt they always look photoshopped.
